Sqeeky Clutch
My car has started to make the infamous sqeeky clutch sound. I have 10,000 kms on my car (Not miles). Is there anything I can do about it?? Does it really affect anything or is it just an annoying sound??
Thanks, Phu.

Could be a master cylinder. Mine went after about 60-65,000 miles though. I would ask Honda or somebody if you are under warranty, as long as they dont charge you just to listen to the noise. I replaced mine for like 200 including labor (parts ordered from Honda). I think mine could have been more of a click though.

Anybody else have any input???
I had that problem.....It's one of the bushings under the pedal....if you take it to honda they will oil up that bushing for you and it won't squeak anymore...but then after a few days it dries again and you have ot take it back....I just ignore the sound now...maybe later i'll take it in to replace the complete pedal I dont' know...but thats what your problem is

Yea my car does the same thing, all it is a spring that dries up from time to time. If you do alot of stop and go traffic in heat this will happen more quickly.

so there's nothing really wrong with the car though, correct?? I don't mind the sound that much. I usually don't hear cause I got the music going. I usually hear it at night cause it much more quiet outside, and I usally don't play the music as loud at night.
ya nothing is wrong...you can take it to honda if you want just to be on safe side but from what your describing nothing is really wrong....there have been other threads about this if you want you can search and see whats going on
I have the same problem with my 2003.
I had the "creak" on my clutch pedal. Turned out he master cylinder was gone (after 30000 kms). The new one lasted 10000, it's back in getting replaced again.

Theres nothing wrong with the clutch. Yes it is annoying, I agree but its normal. I had the same noise on my 93 civic and I currently have the same noise on my 01. Its just one of those honda things. :\
Don't listen to those who say your clutch is gone. This is a very common problem in all Honda's, not just ours. It's just a squeak, nothing more. A good lubing will get rid of it, but it does need to be lubed regularly (like once or twice a year) if you want to keep it squeak free.
I've had my clutch squeak since 8,000 miles 3 years ago and I didn't bother with addressing it back then. And now 3 years later at 60,000 miles, it's still that same squeak, no better, no worse... and I still don't bother with it. And the clutch still feels great.

okay my car had the squeak and clicking clutch and the problem is not inside of the car its outside of the car. Under the hood right where the header is there is a littler rubber boot which houses the linkage which the master cylinder puts pressure on. Its that joint that is making the noise not your pedal. So I would take it to the dealership and have them lube that joint with some lithium grease and the noise should go away for a long long long time. This is a very common problem with hondas.

I never said your clutch is gone by the way, the master cylinder is different. It costs like 175 for a new one, and it WILL fix the squeek, as long as your clutch isnt slipping, your clutch is fine. Your clutch is bad when your rpms are higher than they should be, like your engine sound really loud, and you arent going very fast, or it should be lower RPM's.

the prob with the master cylinder is that it isnt getting enough lube, so lubeing it would be a temp fix, but getting a new master cylinder will fix the prob for a lot longer. Mine went at like 70,000 miles, but was quiet before that.
