Wipers gripping the windshield

Friend picked up his 04' Si-G, and i'm not sure if the blades suck or what to do about them, but in the rain the wipers gripped the windshield. Civics are cheap, but not that cheap and crappy right? What can i do? Can wipers be adjusted?

Thanks

Well, is your friend using them when its raining hard, or just barely raining? Mine only do that when the windshield isnt really wet. Maybe just change them out and see if the problem goes away.

I am pretty sure wipers cant be adjusted. Shouldnt be a big deal though.

I don't think it has to do with the Civic being "cheap", I've had lots of cars do this. Clean the windshield well, clean the wiper blades well (I find cleaning the rubber insert with Rain-X helps a lot), and it'll be smooth as butter.
