My serpentine belt squeals when car is running...
Hey guys,
On my 02 Civic ex w/ 27,000 miles, I noticed my serpentine belt squeals when the car is running. Its not very loud but maybe I should use the term "squeaks". Yesterday I applied two aplications of this "belt dressing" by Gunco that is supposed to stop squeals on the belts and protect it from premature wear. At first I thought it worked but it continued to squeak...and yes I applied the dressing on correctly both the underside and exterior of belt just for the hell of it. Im wondering if its the pulley itself that the belt is connected to? Any thoughts on applyingn WD-40 to the pulley? Well thats pretty much it, I hope someone has a comment to help me out on. Thanks!

How many belts are there? And can you please name them? I applied this stuff to the belt by the alternator which I thought was the serpentine belt.

your belt thats squeking (whichever it is) is just probably loose. that belt dressing doesnt work, i've tried it before. just tighten the belt and your squeeling noise should be gone.
oh, and dont put WD-40 on your pulley either!!!
