noise in the hood

when my car is warmed and at idle, i can hear something like "HAHAHAHAHA..." (don't know how to describe) in the engine bay, around alternator and timing belt area, it quiets a little when i turn on my headlight, what's the problem causing this? i can hear it everytime i stop and wait for the greenlight, is that my alternator going bad? or the timing belt is loose? i had it changed few months ago, maybe the guy didn't install the timing belt properly and now it gets loose? if timing belt is loose, will it make that kind of sound and quiets when headlight is turned on? somebody please help, thanks, and sorry for my english.

It could be a bad alternator. Does the noise go away when the car is warmed up? I have a cam gear noise when the car is warming up. Timing belt is prolly loose too.
