Make a long story short, mechanic at honda told a co-worker of mine that her 2001 civic's problem sounded like a faulty or broken torque converter. And that this would ruin the transmission eventually. Does this sound correct? So what does this mean? What's the deal with getting something like this fixed. What's a torque converter and is it worth for her to get fixed. They told her $1600. What's your thoughts on this and expertise on this.
thanks everyone.

Yeah really. That sounds too pricey for a torque converter to me. But it's an important part of the auto tranny system. He's probably right, but I would go find a cheaper place unless it's under warranty.
This cost me 1500 points
