Urgent : Car Not Starting Up
Urgent : Car Not Starting Up
I go to my car this morning, try to start it up and it doesn't. I try to turn on the light and it's very dim... so I figured the batteries low..
but, the meters won't stop twitching.. even with the key out. I don't think anything was left on yesterday either. Should I get AAA to charge me up? I have a feeling it's going to happen again in the day. or should I call Honda to fix it.
Thanks for any tips guys.

First see if you can get a jump. If that doesn't work, see if you can get someone to take you to pep-boys or something to charge the battery. If no one can then call AAA to charge the battery. If it doesn't charge get a new battery. If the battery is fully charged or the new battery doesn't work. Look into getting a new starter or alternator.

My battery died on me a week ago without any reason. Same thing. I charged it overnight, and it came back to the green dot. Now no problems. Alternator checks, getting 14.46 volts running. Weird. Next time it dies, I'm putting an optima in.
The weak battery will make the ECU do weird things. Make sure you completely reset it as a precaution, and do the idle learn again.

Yeah i wouldnt call AAA its just gonna take forever and theyll do a lousy job, you should know how to jump a car, if not its no big deal im not ragging on anyone but its time to learn, just have someone show you its super easy and useful, jump it and see if it starts if it does make sure to leave it running for about 10 to 20 minutes if it doesnt start again after this amount of time its time for a new battery or alternator, most local auto stores will test it for free in hope of being able to sell you one, if the car starts again after shutting it off you should be ok but if it doesnt then you have to check the starter and the starter relay (i believe the civics have starter relays if not i appologise) sometimes giving the starter relay a good whack with a hammer makes it work, i **** you not it really does, but you should still replace it. well good luck
