Hood will not close

for some reason the hood on my 04 will not close. i am not sure what the problem is but the latch may be broken. my other car is an old 3 series BMW and the philosophy behind closing the hood on that car is a world apart.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

The philosophy behind closing the hood? Isn't the philosophy behind closing the hood on any car to prevent access to the engine bay and restore driver visibility?

If you don't want the dealer to check it out, kneel down and look at the latch as the hood hits it. That'll let you know if the latch is busted or not.

you might have to adjust your hood latch for it to close properly. just do what VTEC01EX said about looking at the hood latch when it closes. you might have to loosen the bolts that hold the latch and move it up a bit for it to catch all the way.

Or adjust those rubber stoppers to give give or less clearance.

Or... put that gray plastic reservoir (with the red cap) just behind your driver's side light back into its bracket. I don't know how many times I had to move that aside to get access to my headlight bulbs, and then tried to slam my hood closed before putting it back on its bracket.

armieo - excellent point. I've done this a few times myself. What was the problem determined to be, blood-man?

You know what, I forget that crap too. I changed a headlight and drove around like that for quite awhile. I didn't find out about it until I took it to the dealer for something and they noticed it. Honda should really put the power steering resivor elsewhere.
