Honda doesn't know what's wrong...
Before I start, I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX AUTO 4dr.
I dropped my car off yesterday to get my transmission looked at because it makes a hissing sound (similar to that of a blow off valve on turbo'd vehicles) whenever it shifts at any RPM greater than 3500rpm. The Honda technician drove my car around and said that he could hear the sound clearly, just didn't know what it was that was making the sound. I left the car at Honda overnight and just called them to see what's up.
My service guy said that some technicians were driving around in my car because they couldn't see anything mechanically wrong with the transmission (WTF??), so they are going to try to pinpoint the problem today. I say they should give up and give me a new car, but that's me.
Anybody know what's wrong with my car??

Well if honda can't find anything wrong, they are going to just give your car back to you. Dont, I repeat dont let them do that. If they hear the noise, make them replace everything till it stops making it.

EHhhhhhhhhhh..........I don't really give a crap about this car anymore. If I have to take it in because of a BIG malfunctioning of the transmission, then they're gonna have to give me a new car.

damn hamster. maybe i should trade it in for a gerbil?
Yeah, I know. I'm just trying to be optimistic about it. Honda service guys/techs said it was normal and that all automatic civics do this, but I don't think they're telling me the truth.
They wont give you a new car, they will rebuild your tranny.

Honda just doesn't want to look at it. And when it breaks, they'll try to blame it on you for abuse. Write a letter to Honda of America. They'll have to check into it. The tranny's are KNOWN for problems. The best you can do is change the fluid every 25k.
