04 civic owners....

what kinda problems have you experienced with your 04 civic? I have had my trunk lock not function and the plastic frame on the outside of my windsheild is starting to come off. I justed wanted to see if there were any common problems in this paticular year of the civic.

man you think they would have fixed it after at least two years of the same problem.

that reminds me

my dad had a 97 ford winstar van and two days before we were gonna sell it, the tranny blew and all we had was second gear, no first, no third, no shifting from the tranny. haha domestics... at least they arent ALL like that

anyways, only problem i have is with the ebrake making a click sound when i get out of the car but tahts it. and also, my idle speed is kinda low but that needs a throttle cable adjustment so yeah... no problems yet for me *knocskon wood*

I have not seen any issues yet with my 04. Mind you it only has 2700K on it. I deal at Yellowhead. They seem ok. I am sure they will fix any warranty issue. As long as it happens b4 60k!

yeah i deal with Mill woods honda. My car has 11000km on it. I bought a demo version so my warranty started at 9700km. Minor stuff. I'd rather have some minor inconvience type stuff rather then the all to common domestic engine and whatever else you can think of type of problems.

51XX miles on my g.f.'s `04 EX-SSRS

Windshield cracked at 2 days old, while being tinted, prob. a factory defect, but tint shop took care of it...

All the seats show lint, really really really bad, does this ever go away? Prob. just going to upgrade to leather...

Pass. side mud flap rubbed off paint where it touched car. Would rather touch up and re-adjust as opposed to having someone try to match red, so thats what we did...

Interior panels turning white, its wierd, dash, glove box, door panels, defective vinal? We'll find out soon...

Front bumper cracked after hitting 6th or 7th animal, are they attracted to red? Going to get fixed soon...

Would we buy something else? HELL NO!! Would do it all over again!!

OTHER CARS CONSIDERED:

Mazda 3 <-- crappy manual transmission

Mini Cooper S <-- crappy door panels, cool secondary car, not a good primary ride.

Acrua TSX <-- had a deposit and would have bought, but dealer lied to us, so we waited and decided on a civic for other reasons...

Honda S2000 <-- again, cool secondary car, not good year round primary ride in Oklahoma...

2004 Civic VP, 2xxx miles on it. So far no problems. Thought for a while I had a dash rattle, come to find out it was my parking tag on my rear view. That would make sense as to why I thought it was coming from the passenger side and my passengers thought it was from the drivers side.

Really? I read in Road & Track that it had the best manual of any new small car.

But back to the topic at hand. At around 500 miles my 04 LX went in cuz it occasionally wouldn't let me shift into 1st or 3rd. The dealer said the tranny was fine, and I just didn't know how to drive. Funny how it never happened again, though, after spending the day in the service bay.

Speaking of problems with 04s... has anybody had their cars make a burning smell, kinda like plastic or rubber. At first I thought it was just cuz the new plastic was getting "broken in", but it has almost 2500 miles on it and I'll still occasionally smell it.

Yeah, it'll dissipate in time, though.

Also, check your muffler that you didn't snag a platic bag on the street. I caught one recently, and it melted to my exhaust. It stinks like mad. Takes a loong time to burn off, even after scraping off as much as I could.

have 21000km on mine LX coupe, no major problems cept the shifter is kinda stiff coming out of first and when i start my car or clutch it (after it's been sitting there for a few hours) there's this rattling noise inside the engine, haven't had time to check it yet. Oh and LOTS and LOTS of scuff marks on my door (rocker panel) that I can't seem to get rid of =(

Thumbs down

k, new problem to add... just recently my horse-poop of a transmission has decided to start throwing itself out of gear. The car now has 3500 miles and it's starting to act like the tranny I used to have in my old Si after 175K miles. I'd take it in to the dealer, but I don't feel like going through the whole "We can't figure it out, maybe you don't know how to drive" argument again. Maybe they'll finally realize something's wrong when it has to be towed in. Why on earth didn't I buy a Toyota?

It's probably just something stuck to the exhaust... same problem I had. It'll eventually go away... no worries.

Nope not charged, it just is made out of rubber and pulls the lint right out of the fabric to vacuum it up. Its amazing, my car looks like new again after I use it. You cant imagine how much stuff is buried down in the those fibers.
