Heres a stumper
OK it started off as the ole wont go over 3k rpm problem and has now escalated into wont start at all and i it does immaculatly start it does not idle and immediatly stalls when it kicks down to low idle. Now is this timing, coomputer or ignition type of situation the car is getting fual and air into the cylinder but it doesnt seem to want to fire. It just turns and turns. I took out the plugs and noticed they are covered in what i assume is oil and could also possibly be fuel. Anyone have any idea what this could be the model is 2001 HX D17a6 MT and i have already come to the conclusion that it has nothing to do with the exhaust or cat con. Please help me i have to go to work soon and cant get there.
I doubt it's oil covering the plugs, if it is, you've got a lot of oil in your cylinders, which means either your rings or valve seals are toast.
To check the rings, get a compression meter and do a test, I think earlier someone said it should be about 195 psi.
Oil leaking past the valve seals wouldn't cause it to not start.
Check your coils for firing, unplug one of them, put a spark plug in the end of it, have a friend turn it over and look for spark (make sure the plug is against a dark background, the sparks are pretty small). Another thing you can do is go to autozone and pick up and inductive spark detection device. It looks like a pen but with a little window in it and a lightbulb behind it. Hold it close to your plug and crank the engine and you should see light through the bulb. Another way you can test to see if you're getting gas is to smell one of the plugs.
Another easy thing you can try is pulling the plugs and cleaning them, then putting them back in and seeing if it will start. Your plugs appear to be fouled, probably due to weak spark. At least you know you're probably getting gas to the cylinders.
Personally, I think your ECU or ignition controller (built into ECU???) has died.
As a last resort, you could take it to Honda or call their shop and explain it to a tech.

I think im gonna go with the ecu because i went through every mechanicla aspect of this engine and i can find nothing wrong but the spark and thats probaby caused by that
