Angry HELP! thread for lugnut is messed up

Okay, so I'm getting my car aligned tomorrow, and today I went to adjust my Teins to make my car lower before the alignment. So, I go to take off one of the lugnuts on the front left tire and its EXTREMELY hard to take off. I finally get it off and notice that there is a flat part where there should be some thread for the lug to hold on to (kind of like this... /\/\/\/\_/\/\ ). This sucks, I don't think I could've done it when I was taking off the lugnut cause I've done it so many times with no problems. My friend said it could be from the air tools that they use at the shops to get my lugs off. That is a possibility. So, my question is this, can I just take my car to say a tire shop and just have them fix the stripped thread? I'm quite sure this has happened to someone else on this board before, so it has happened to you, how much did you pay to get it repaired? Thanks for your time!

yeah i had to get one stud replaced on my sisters car before. it cost like $30 and was pretty quick for them to do. the air tools that shops use could be the cause of it, but, if u dont have a camber kit on ur car and u try to take off the lugs with the wheel slanted because off offset camber, you could damage ur studs aswell. so, you could have messed up ur stud urself.
