How many miles from OEM Pads?

Hi everyone,
just curious in knowing how many miles your oem pads lasted. I had to replace mine at 14000 miles. Is this normal considering that i don't usually race my car?

Oh don't forget to post your pads mileage.

Thanks.

much depends on how you drive - if you brake harder or tend to ride the brake pedal..they will wear quicker.

I have a 2k1 coupe with original pads - 25k miles and also a 98 sedan, original pads replaced at just over 50k miles.

65,000, before I switched to my Porterfields (for specific reasons) I could have gotten anoher 10 out of the pads and 30 out of the shoes, easily. Of course I do a lot of Freeway driving.

I replaced mine at 24,000. granted they had a little bit of life left...
Did you actually get to see the old pads, or did someone just say you needed new brakes?

Cause unless you drive the **** out of your car, they should last you minimum of 50,000 miles.

go there to see the status of my brakes after 24,000 miles of fairly hard driving.

I have seen a guy at a brake shop in there getting his shocks looked at and he had over 130,000 with all the original brake ****. He only drove his car on the freeway, said he only brakes like 5 times a day. crazy **** if you ask me.

I checked my brakes at 30K miles. The front pads looked like I could go at least another 20K. I took my rear drums off also, and the shoes had minor wear. I think I can get at least 80K from the rear shoes.

I don't really think I'm a wuss with the brakes either. I drive mostly highways, but with a lot of stop and go traffic. I try not to stomp on them really hard since it it heats up the pads and rotors too much, but I consider myself a mostly average driver, but drive aggressively at times.

Some advice- I don't wash my car unless I know the brakes have cooled off. Spraying water on hot rotors can cause warping.

I got 38,000 out of them, when I took them off, there was about 1/2 left. I saved them for track day spares just in case.
