air filter box screw

air filter box screw

i over tighten the air filter box screw, i can see the bottom of screw hole is break, screw is stuck in the hole, anyone know how can i take it out.... help, appreciated

I know.... get rid of the plastic air box all together and put an intake in and you will win both ways

I would pull the airbox out of the engine bay so you will have better access to it. Then, take a very small screwdriver, coat hanger, or something of that nature, and use it to push up on the screw from the bottom while unscrewing it from the top. I think that should do it.

Get a bigger screw or use something to fill the hole that will harden. Then, screw the original screw back in and you should be good to go.

i'm plannin to get that Volant cold air intake in future, but right now i just want to clean that K&N air filter, i dont wana break anythin, in case i want put everthin back to stock...

if i take out the air filter box, do i needed to take out the whole things? included the tube and pipe? uh....seem like a lot work to do..

is there a tool out there that i can buy and just pull it out any type of thing...?

Easy fix. But this is due to a poor honda design on the air box.

This is an issue that has been ongoing for a long time.

Tools to use:

1 Flat head screw driver
1 Philips screw driver


use the flat head screw driver to pin between the cover and base of the air box as near as possible to the hole. Hold on to the flat head and use the philips to back out the screw.
