cleaning intake filter

hey everyone i did a search but counldn't find anything so i just wanted to know how long do i let my air filter dry before i re oil it with the K&N recharge kit and do i have to spray the oil on the inside of the filter also. im asking because the instruction are not very specific. Just let it sit overnight. And no, just oil the outside really good, the oil will go through to the other side, but don't spray it inside the filter. The oil doesn't need to set or dry or anything, just spray it down with oil and pout it back in your car.
