Wtf Battery Probs
Hey All,
Anyone else out there having problems starting in this cold weather? My 02 LX barely cranks over in this cold weather (-15 Celcius) but cars and other hondas around me crank without a problem. Once I run the car it starts fine if within a couple hours but overnight its the same thing. I run synthetic motor oil which should make starting even easier but it doesnt seem to help. Last winter I didnt have this problem.
Im worried honda will try to cop out b/c I have a car stereo but I use a small amp that draws 12 amps (less than the defroster) and I even run a 1 farad cap with that to regulate the alternator draw. I have noticed when idling and with my blower on full the blower slows down down and wont speed up till I rev the engine. My instincts are telling me the alternator is holding up its end of the deal, anyone have any insight or similar experience with this?

I noticed the same thing. When the defront is on, the heater blows alot less air. And after starting it, the alternator charges at over 15V until the car warms up.
Starting
I live in Toronto canada and we have had very cold weataher. I find that my car starts faster when its cold, without the block heater. There is a new starter motor in some 2002, and all 2003's
