Are headlights covered under warranty?

The right side headlight of my '01 sedan just went. I have about 7 months left of the 36 month warranty. Are headlights covered? This seems to be soon for a headlight to go, but it seems consistent with what is being said about Honda's declining quality. Even if it is covered, I may just replace it myself, rather than tie the car up at the dealer all day.

did you put in cheap bulbs to burn out them out or kept the stock ones in? If its only been 7 months, common, just complain and they have to give you new ones, that's hella stupid for them to go out in 7 months

no, lights are a wearable part. You must replace them yourself. Please, if you buy a light bulb and it goes out in 2 weeks, do you call the company asking for a new one? No! They wear down. Some last 1 days some last several years. It is not declining quality of Honda, it is a frickin light bulb!

In roosbok's situation, I agree with what robbclark says.

But if your replacement bulbs (stock) keeps popping at short intervals, then there may indeed be something wrong with the car's electrical system (i.e., Honda's fault).

All bulbs on my previous cars have lasted at least 5 years. Original bulbs on my current 7th gen are approaching 3 years now and going strong.

Out of topic, but when I wash my car, my left headlight seems to fog towards the bottom. It is bone stock and have never tried to clear them. Would Honda replace it since its under warranty? TSB number?
Thanks, Michael

Hmm weird...I'd say go to the dealer n see what they will do but im pretty sure they're not gonna do it for free. Warranty definetly doesn't cover headlights...Just pry ur headlights open, clear em and seal em up good, because u gotta fix that ne way. Mod ur car while ur at it...

if you are still in your 3yr/36k...they will absolutely replace the whole headlight fixture for you. just as long as you haven't modified anything, including replacing the headlight bulb.

^^^ Sweet, thanks. I'll stop by the dealership since I have other warranty issues that need to be covered.

Update though... It was nice and sunny in good ole' Monterey, CA (rain lately) so I washed my car and now BOTH headlights fogged toward the bottom. You can see condensation, etc. I should've took some pics. Maybe next time... Thanks for everyones reply though.

I don't really know about the bulb, but if your headlight has problem, they will take care of it. I had 1 time had a Prelude and put a true 130W bulb in for fun, and the other morning I found that the reflector cap turned brown....I took out the 130W bulb and put back the H1 originally came from car.....I went to the dealer and told them that I didn't do anything to the bulb and never touch it....They replace BOTH lights for free...
