Dip in my power band?

I've got a 03 EX 5-speed coupe with 5500 miles on it. When I drive it hard my car drops in power right before it engauges Vtec. It has like a drop in the powerband then when the Vtec engauges it pulls hard. Its around 300 RPM before Vtec engauges. Anyone else have this problem? I do not have a CEL on or do I have any mods to the motor.

i notice that every once in a while, the exact same problem. it isnt super noticable, but it is kinda annoying. i only notice it if i am due for an oil change or if i put a bad batch of gas in my car.
