Are my spark plugs still good?
Hey guys, I was wondering how you tell if your plugs need replacing. I took mine out to check and the bottom part that goes in the engine is completely black. I also noticed scorched marks on the lower white part of the plug. I only had these for 17K miles. If these are bad, they may explain my poor mileage and other engine problems.
If they are bad already, would those NGK IX Iridiums be okay to use? They would be half the price of getting new stock double platinum plugs. Don't know if they would work okay. Thanks for any help.
