The post just before yours describes it perfectly. Lack of a functional suspension ie. faulty shocks. You feel and hear every imperfection and bump in the road surface. The car rattles like hell. My own experience was similar. Early signs were a harder ride and a knocking every now and then during cornering. The knocking could be sensed right through the car, accelerator pedal and steering wheel. Had both front shocks replaced at 55K, at 65K I'm sensing the same thing. Recently, I've had intermiitent knocking during right-hand-turns, they inspected everything and could find nothing damaged, worn etc. Identified the current problem as normal . . . "spring pop" due to "progressively wound spring". I'm no mechanic, but my background is in science. I don't know of many springs that wouldn't be progressively wound. Time will tell. I don't know about this rattle that increases with throttle. I had a bad rattle from the auto shifter when the car was new. It increased and maxed out between 2nd and 3rd gear during acceleration. First Honda dealership said it was "normal" (Yellowhead Honda, Edmonton, AB). Second dealership (Alberta Honda) identified it within 15 minutes as a loose tranny mechanism . . . repaired under warranty.

two or more struts in my car must be blown, lately I've bottomed out in a few placed where I didn't before. also my rear suspension is very noisy. I'll take see what I can do in this vacations. hopefully they'll fix it under warranty.

My 2001 civic sedan front suspension tends to rattle a little going over bumps on the road. It feels very much like it needs a rubber mounting somewhere. The dealer told me it's normal. Hmmmm.

I've never owned a new car with unusual suspension before my Civic.
