Thought I could make it to 100,000 miles with no out of warranty problems - not so! My 2001 LX 5 speed sedan will not idle - any ideas? I have never took my car in for the POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE recall I received shortly after buying the car , it does mention erratic engine idle as one of the possible problems - does not mention stalling.
Any ideas appreciated!

Rep Power: 0 it may related to many things...possibly set of new spark plugs, flush the engine oil, clean the fuel injection system, change fuel filter...hope that helps...

Rep Power: 0 If your car had a recall, I'm sure you can still get it done for free even though your warranty has expired. And there's a few other threads floating around in this forum about stalling and low idle, worth checking out.

Rep Power: 284 i have about 74,000 miles on my car already. I've gotten all the re-calls done, and I've only had 1 problem that I can remember which was I had to change the timing belt and alternator. Honda helped pay for it, since it's only 2 yrs old.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah - Ronin, you are correct there is no time limit on the recall - I will get that taken care of. Car has started to idle again - at least for the moment. After I already spent the money for new plugs! Have not installed them yet. Hopefully this "glitch" will not occur again. Thanks for the replies!
