quick explanation as to how I ended up in this mess;
acquired car (2010 2.2 diesel) with half a hands free kit installed, someone had kindly chopped the controller off, so for first 10 minutes of each journey radio beeped as it trolled through the existing entries in the phone log looking fr phones that I don't have. As no control unable to add mine so unit useless and annoying.
I removed the whole thing, which connected to the headunit with it's own 'in the middle' loom, reconnected and put everything else back together.
I now have no central locking, cannot open tailgate, no radio, no anything that requires a permanent power feed, to the point that even the lights go out when I turn the ignition off. checked fuses and everything seems okay? Could I have dislodged a wire in the control box that sits at the back of the centre console under the radio? Just asking before I tear the dash etc apart again this weekend.

Double check your work and check the fuses with a meter, don't just look at them
