2006 civic 2.2 cdti electrical problem
2006 civic 2.2 cdti electrical problem
Hi
I have a problem with my civic...
I just bought it with a glow plug issue,
I managed to get rid of the warning light on the dashboard with a odb diagnostic tool and got home fine with it...
I drove it yesterday and it had the same problem but the warning light was coming up very often and the car was in limp mode...
So I drove it back in limp mode...
Then the battery light came up...
I broke down on the motorway...
Everything just shut down...
No light at all...
Impossible to jump start too...
So would anyone know where to start?
I was thinking of the alternator...
But it would jump start if it was....
À fuse ?
Relay?
Ground wire?
I would really appreciate a quick response
Many thanks in advance!
Tom

Re: 2006 civic 2.2 cdti electrical problem
Thanks,
And I know of the fuse box under the bonnet,
Is there an other one?
If no fuses are blown, what else could go wrong?
The problem is that the car is 2h00 drive away and I really need to know what to bring with me to take it back...
I want to get a battery and alternator, glow plugs and some fuses...
Any other ideas please,

Re: 2006 civic 2.2 cdti electrical problem
electrical issues are only solved by checking everything in person. Could be anything, down to squirrels chewing on the wires.
fuses, alternator, wire, multimeter, etc.
only checking in person, really...
there's another fuse box under the dash, but engine related are mostly under hood

Re: 2006 civic 2.2 cdti electrical problem
Hi again,
Here I an update on the civic...
I changed the alternator and glow plugs and battery, with the oil change with all the filters...
Got rid of the ecu faults and it drove fine for 15 miles,
When I tried to start it again, impossible to start,
I don't have the preheat logo on the dash
I get engine management light and vsa...
I have checked all fuses
I was thinking of the preheat relay or ecu...
Anyone agree?
Many thanks

let's hope some other members have information.
Majority of members here are North America, where we don't have the Diesel model...

OK new update...
I changed ecu, bsm and steering lock with key...
Same emgine light with code p1384...
Preheat system....
I tested the wiring loom for preheat plugs...
No problem...
No fuses or relay issues...
I have to admit that I have got to a stage where I want to set fire to the car...
Any clue??
