Head Unit and Gas Gauge won’t turn on

Hi i have a 2007 civic si. Last night when i was driving home i was coming up my street in first gear and the car seemed to die for a second. When i opened my door none of the lights turned on or anything but then when i put my key into the ignition everything started up but my head unit won’t turn on and my gas gauge is just showing empty. I disconnected the battery and put it back to see if that would reset it but it did nothing. I let the car start up and run for a second as well and nothing too. Did I blow a fuze or something shorting. Please help thank you!!

Might be a dying alternator. When they go some of the electronics will run, others fail.

Start the car and test the voltage. It should be 2 volts above what the battery reads while the car is off. Ideally 14v running, 12v off.

other than that, I'd start by checking all fuses, a test light helps speed things up. Also check for signs of rodents, which could have chewed into the wiring.
