I have a 2010 Honda Civic lx sedan with 100,000 miles. A few weeks back I started my car with about a half tank of gas. The gas gauge on my dash, the “F” and the “E” went out and the bars that show you the amount of gas you have left went out, but here’s the weird part the bars that went on we’re the ones of the amount of gas I do not have left in the car. So tonight the bars that were lit up in the car were the first two on the left showing what I don’t have in the car. Then after some driving it will go back to normal, the f, e, and the bars that show me what I have left in the car. I hope someone has seen this before. I don’t want to bring it to my mechanic if We have no idea what’s causing this problem. Meaning throwing bunch of new parts.

When i owned my 08 civic i remember having a problem with the fuel bars stuck on everything else was lite up ok i just used a strong concentrated fuel Injecter cleaner like BG 44k with-in 15 minutes of pouring it in & driving it.i Kid You not it returned back to normal reading never had problem ever again wich led me to beleive sending unit had some (gunk or dirt) that got kicked up. i would try that. 1st uther than that if it dont work , you might have some connection coroded contact problem somewhere.
