Wheel Bearing & Hub

We had our son’s 2015 Civic in the shop for routine maintenance foray and the said the front right hub & bearing needed replacement.

could someone help me with the following questions?

1. Should I insist on Honda parts or allow them to get them? It’s not a Honda dealer.
2. Do I need to get the wheels aligned after the replacement?
3. Should I have the other side replaced?

The car has 30,000 miles on it and I think it must have happened last winter. He hit a pot hole hard and ripped a tire. Of course I could be wrong.

Re: Wheel Bearing & Hub

They should last a long time. I have had my 2002 from 66,000km to 185,000km and only replaced on bearing because I stupidly left the lug nuts loose on that side.

It's a safety item, that you dont want to replace ever again so I'd go OEM Honda.

Check youtube, for a tutorial, some of them are ridiculously easy to replace; like 20 minutes total.
