2006 Si Sluggish?...
2006 Si Sluggish?...
You have to forgive me, but im not very car savvy. I bought my si back in Aug of last year. Acceleration was great. Lately it seems to not have as great of pick up as it used to. Seems like it would go 90mph without any effort. Now it seems like its really trying when I go 60-70. Engine seems to be alot louder as well. Any idea at to what could be causing this? Regular maint. has been done.
I'll flip out and kill people.

plugs maybe... clean the air filter... maybe get it smog checked to make sure the cat isn't blocked. those are my unprofessional opinions on starting places.

What gas are running octane wise?
Should not be the plugs already, nless you are boosted, and or running real rich for some reason. I would check the airfilter first. If that thing is real dirty it may be causing you to notice some difference. I just bought my car and the previous owner had it maintained by Honda and they never replaced the air filter, so when I checked it out it was filthy. I have around 22,000 miles on mine. If this turns out to be the problem then If I were you I would check it out about everytime you have the oil changed to see how it looks. I would also buy a a KN so that you can just clean it when it gets dirty rather than having to buy a new filter all the time. Typically you should not have to replace them that often but depending on how much dirt is on the roads you drive it may need more frequent changing/ cleaning. Another big thing to think about since you are in FL, so am I, during the summer months my cars have always driven a little differnet due to humidity and air density change. Cars run great during the winter and like **** in the summer.
