Rep Power: 0 Trim Paint Cracking?
Hey everyone, recently I have been noticing that around the airvents right above my HU the paint has been cracking. It hasn't been flaking off, just cracks around the lower right and lower left parts of the trim around the air vents. I have no idea why this is happeneing, but the vents do blow air on this part of the trim just because of the position of the vents. I have several layers of primer, silver plasti-kote paint w/ several coats of clearcoat. I don't know why this is happening, but if I repaint this trim, is there anything else I can paint it with that will prevent it from cracking?

Rep Power: 0 i'm not sure.. but maybe its the temperature change.. the sun heats up the vents but once you turn on a/c (if you have a/c) the vents get cold. i dont really know what causes it to crack though, its just a guess

Rep Power: 0 That is exactly what I was thinking. My car gets pretty hot when it is just sititng around, and I usually turn on the air full blast when I get in. Is there anyway to prevent this cracking from happening though? Maybe a different type of paint that doesn't fluctuate so much during temperature change.
