Hey everyone, my dark blue civic has scratches etched all over it, they can mainly be seen on the flat surfaces, i.e hood, trunk, roof. I have been tired of looking at all of these scratches and I would really like to remove them. The thing though is I really don't want to use an abrassive compound to remove them. The reason is because around a year ago when I was really obsessed with the way my car looked, I used abrassive compounds such as 3m rubbing compound and swirl remover. I fear that I will start removing paint if I try to use this stuff again. But ive tried meguiars paint cleaner, and it doesn't get rid of these scratches. Could you all please help me. Id really appreciate all the help.

have you tried following up the paint cleaner with the paint polish and then the carnuba wax??

The only way to truly remove scratches or swirls is by leveling your clear-coat which means you'll be thinning it out slightly. Other than that, try Falken's suggestion to minimize their appearance.

wax doesnt really help. and non-abrasives dont do anything as they are like make-up. they hide it for awhile until it washes away.
how many times did you use the swirlmark remover anyways

Use a good wax with a high speed polisher/buffer but make sure not to use the high speed thats just what there called use a nice moderate speed like about 3 maybe 4 after that put on a hand coat and they should be gone otherwise a cut polish might be the only way to get them out.

Are you referring to a direct-drive rotary buffer or a random-orbital polisher? These are two very different machines.
