the best way to get a dealer sticker off?
whats the best way of getting of those stupid dealer stickers? my friend said a blowdryer but seemed kind of dumb, but i dont know.
I heated mine with a hair dryer, then, and very carefully, I used needle nose pliers to grab and pull that sticker off. It was like aluminum on top, then had like a sponge layer, then the sticky layer. So after I pulled off the aluminum layer there were 2 layers left, I just heated it up carefully with the hair dryer and bit by bit picked and rubbed the rest of the krap off. I may have used a chemical, like rubbing alcohol, but it eventually all came off. Then i waxed the area. There are no residual marks on the paint. So be careful, not careless.

I have always used my finger nail to lift and corner and then peel them off. Afterwards, I polish with Klasse all-in-one to remove the residue. WD-40 will remove any sticky stuff with ease as well.

Your friend was right. The best way to remove any sticker off a car without damaging the paint is to first heat it with a hair dryer. Then use your finger nails to peel the sticker off as you are heating it. Then after the sticker itself is removed use a type of adhesive remover to remove the reside from it.

Don't use pliers. Take a piece of strong string or fishing line and run it behind the sticker. Then kinda with a sawing motion work the string back and forth and pull it so it cuts behind the sticker. This, of course after warming with a hair dryer. Use tar remover, or WD40 or even kerosene to remove the goo and then wax hell out of it.
Hair dryer and Wd40 also works good for removing pinstripes or any other decals or stickers.
Check the DIY section. I believe there is a DIY on shaving emblems.

I used soapy water. I applied it with a paper towel and lit it sit for about 15 minutes. The sticker peeled right off. A little cleanup work with adhesive remover, polish/wax, and I was done.
The hairdryer is probably the best way to do it.
A better way though(which you are past this point) is tell the dealer to not even put is on in the first place. When I told mine they asked why I didn't want it and I just told them if they wanted to pay me for advertising then they can put it on.

I really wanted to take of ma decals, i have ove on da rear window an da rest is on da paint... watz da best way to do it.. is it da blow dryier idea o anythin better.... wat if i took it to a body shop... tell me wat u guys think.... peace... p.s anybody in da chicago land area, come to da May 24th meet at busse forest perserve un schaumburg.... peace....
Bug and tar remover works for decals and pin stripes. Just let it soak a little and then use the blow dryer to heat as up pull on the sticker. It took about 10 minutes to take off both my pin stirpes that way. Just pull kinda slow as the heat releases the plastic.

i used a hair dryer and my fingers and it worked fine, got a little warm on the fingers every now and then, i also used this method to remove the stickers from the bottom corner of the windows.
