I got like two scratches on my brand new civic :-( Am I ok to drive this through the wintrer without fear of rust building up becuase it is only plastic that is exposed.? They are very minor scrathes about one inch long, but I hate the way they look. If I was to repair it, could I do it myself by buying touch up paint or would I have to be ripped off by my freidnyl honda dealer?
With touch up paint would I have to sand down the area or anything or just apply it to the bumper?
Thanks

Rep Power: 391 well the touch up paint i have applies sorta like nail polish.
If the scratches are really stand-out-ish, and are bothering then you might want to consider touch up paint... its cheap and quick... if you're a perfectionist it won't do the chore as you'd hoped because it won't match the car perfectly.
and you don't need to do any sanding for touch up paint...
your other option is to get the entire bumper sanded and resprayed which just isn't worth it.

Rep Power: 0 If they are on the plastic, they should be okay for the winter....plastic/urethane is pretty durable stuff...but if it was on the body, that needs help ASAP! But no doubt, touch up scratches as soon as you can...
