hey, im not sure if im postin this in the right area or not, but anyways, my sister has a 2001 jetta and a pen exploded in her car and got all over the leather, do any of you guys know how you could remove the ink from the leather without ruining the leather?

i bet your best shot would be take your car to a detailing shop, but it probably be expensive. . .

sears hardware has something for that. its a waterbase so it doesnt ruin the leather. its next to the griffiti remover. smells like shiet though

Or, buy some seat covers.

When I bought my 00 accord it has a slight black colored smear on the passenger seat. I asked them if they get could clean it off. The detailer came out with a bottle of mineral spirits. I decided it wasn't that bad. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] Anyhow, that's what they use in extreme cases as I think it is the only thing you can use. Be careful or it will discolor the leather. However, if she has ink everywhere, it will look better even if the color does fade a little.

ink is much like a dye,it etched into ur leather,order a replacement from the dealer,its not cheap.

Try a little bit of laquer thinner sounds harsh i know but it works! I got that tip while working at a chevrolet aftermarket accessories and van conversions.

Use Hairspray or Denatured Alcohol. Test both first in an unseen area to make sure it won't take the color out of the leather.
