Cleaning silver rims...

...I usually hand wash my rims with a sponge and car wash soap. I use Zippo Turtle Wax Car Soap, will this soap damage the finish on my rims? I currently have a set of Konig Toxxins on my car.

No it shouldnt I used the same soap on my old car and it never hurt the rims but I do recommend that you keep a coat of wax on your rims . you can use the same stuff you use on your paint . it will help them from becoming pitted and ti will keep the clearcoat in good shape not tomention it will make them shine

civicdude will become famous soon enough
I agree...Car wash will not hurt the rim...It is made for your cars finish....and anything attached to the exterior of the car. I try not to use any cleaners on my wheels, just use soap and water. After every few washes I wax my rims with the same wax I use on the paint. You could use aluminum polish but I find that it smears and it also doesnt last as long as the wax does.
