A friend told me it was not good to wash a car with ammonia products.

Not sure I would do it. Maybe the glass. Isopropyl alcohol is fine but know that it will strip the wax off.

Do not do that use car soap or you can get a foam cannon threw your water hose and when you wash go in strait lines do not wash in circles.
