no, you'll be fine, you don't really have to cover anything. i use the power washer in the engine bay every time i wash my car, been doing this for 6 months and no problems.

It can not hurt to cover your filter with a little baggie or something. And be careful with a high pressure washer cause enough pressure and you might knock something loose.

Yeah just cover anything that can be affected by the water and put it on a low setting if you can so you dont break anything in the engine bay.

if u spray the cone filter with high pressure it will stretch the pores and not allow the red spray (cleaning element) to operate properly allowing dirt through the filter. In the KN cleaning kit it says NOT TO WASH FILTER UNDER HIGH PRESSURE. I would not recommend it if with an intake. However, with a CAI, I wouldnt see a problem as long as u have a bypass valve of some sort.

the bypass valve wouldn't make a difference due to the fact that it only does anything when the car is on and drawing air through the intake.

k i know that someof you know me but for the ones that dont im a manager of a detail shop and we powerwash cars every damn day. we use a really high powerd one that heats up the water to about 240* F . we do the engine and about 1 time in the 3 years ive been there on something has fallen off of a car in the engine bay, dont be worried nothing will fall off. but since your intake is exposed just put a baggie over it and youll be fine.
