Worn out Steering Wheel; Skin Peeling Off

The steering wheel of my Honda Civic 2007 has become severely worn out and UGLY. The synthetic leather skin (coating) has peeled back in several places along the top and top sides, thus revealing the spongy layer inside. It looks horrible and I don't know how to fix it. Anybody ever had a similar problem and could share some advice on how to remedy the problem?
Thank you!

I'm having exactly the same problem on my 2007 civic ex. Its at the top of the steering wheel where I grip the steering wheel. Is this covered under warranty?

Honda sells a leather steering wheel cover. You can order it from College Hills
Honda. See http://www.collegehillshonda.com/hon...n-interior.htm

Does not fit Si models. You have to stitch it on yourself.

while it has been 4½ years since this thread … someone may find interest in this topic. i had same problem on my 2002-civic-sedan. walmart sells a leather-wrapped sleeve to be placed over the existing wheel … they claim it fits 14½-15½" wheels. make sure you read the product-warning label on back … if you do not purchase the leather version … the chemicals could induce cancer.

Stitched ones are a lot of work, but look good when done!
