smells like crap

i was going to put this in the mechanical issue forum but its just not that much of a problem compared to guys who have cars that won't start....

does anyone know why in cold weather my civic smells like ****?

i get in my car and gag cause it smells like mold or mildew and its quite disgusting but its usually gone in a few minutes and doesn't happen but in cold weather (IE the morning)

i called honda about it and they said turn off the A\C a few minutes before you stop driving cause the chemical in it sits on the vents and goes bad. That seems to have quelled the problem but i wanted a second opinion.

I've got an 03 silver coupe, and I get the Mildewy smell tooo...

Look at your cabin hepas, any condensation on those will make them pretty foul. Also, never turn your car off after running AC with the recirculate on. It locks in moisture apparently, which then mildews in a cool dark place underneath the dash.

its mildew from using the a/c. just turn on the heater full blast for 5 mins and cook it away. also keep the recirc off so you're getting fresh air. I never get that smell anymore. also helps to leave the vent open one notch always when the car is parked.
