For people who live in area where salt and sand is used
I just finished washing my car. IT was really nice out, so I decided to do it my self outside. I decided to rinse underneath my rear bumper, and you should have seen the amount of sand that was up there. This is just a tidbit of info for all you people. I hate winters.
haha yeah i was just looking at that section of my car today!... i don't have mudflaps so i can see right thru to the inside of the bumper if i look from the right angle... i noticed how its kinda rounded at the bottom... the perfect spot for dirt and other such substances to get packed in there over a long cold winter :/
anyways thanks for the tip i learn so much in this area of the site lol

I've eliminated that problem frm ever happening. My car is cozy in the garage and I drive my 90' Integra in the blasted winters. Another thing to look out for is in the front of the rear wheel well. A lot of snow and salt gets packed up in the sealing the deadly salt, causing it to rust. Clean that out as well as you can.
Can the sand cause any damage up there in the rear bumper? Is that all plastic in there? In the wintertime I bring my car to the car wash and get an undercarriage wash. I wonder if this gets rid of all the dirt and sand. In the warmer weather I'll have to get under there and check things out....
No the under carriage wash will not get evrything off of the car. If you were able to drive over it longer then the time they allow then it might get more, but not all. Plus it can't reach in some of those cracks and crevices either.
