Angry Small dent on the trunk lid

I don't know how it happened but I found a small light dent (diameter about half the size of a dime) on the top of my trunk lid today after parking on the street like right in the middle further above the "H". Probably from some stupid kids playing ball on the street or some idiot decided I need to have another dent on my 4 month old car.

I would sort of try to gently bang it out but theres like another metal plate underneath with a gap in between thats in the way.

Does anyone else here have a dent(s) on their trunk lid, did you have it removed?

Some people out there just have no respect whatsoever!!

Paintless Dent Removal.

They might use a special hot glue and suction cup technique. Should work fine.

^^paintless is the only way to go. If its just one dent it shouldnt be expensive either.

It varies, it depends on the severity and location of the dents. Just go get an estimate at a local shop, they should give you one for free.

I have about the same sized dent on the top right part on the back of the trunklid (where the dealership would put their emblem or whatever they call it). I figured eh, 50 bucks or so, but I went to Dent Wizard and they told me $100. For a little *** dent!

Nah, only informercial buyers use that method. In some instances, like larger "soft" dents, it helps. For smaller ones and dings, forget it.

The pros use a variety of metal rods to "massage" the dent back out. It is a learned skill, hence the high price.

Kane's right. Those infomercials work good on large dents, but don't do much (if any) to the smaller dents.

Whatever you do, do not use the crappy stuff they sell on tv, my friends used it and i couldn't believe what a rip off it was. The glue sucked and when you put the suction thing down to pull the dent it would just pull right off, then when you would clean everything off to see what progress you made, to my amazement it was still there, maybe bigger cause he had to press down harder! lol

Just let a professional do it, if it bothers you that bad then $100 isn't gonna kill ya. Just make sure it not creased, if it is then the dent cannot and will not be fixed.

PDR is definetly the way to go. I've tried the ding king and all those othe cups products and nothing works better then someone else doing it. And doing it as a profession at that. I had a guy come out and take about 250 hail dents out of the roof of my car. You can't even tell there was anything wrong with it. One of the best PDR jobs I've ever seen. If your near the chicago area, check out my guys site. His names jeremy. PEACE

Some of the last PDR work I had done used this technique, along with the traditional rod techniques. Used some special hot glue. The suction cups were assorted sizes and shapes. Each had marking lines on them to show the direction of force, like the ones pictured below. The guy wiped the area with alcohol, put some hot glue on the dent, put the suction cup on the hot glue, waited for a few minutes, attached a slide hammer onto the suction cup, and pulled away.

Worked an all the dents he tried it on, except for one on a lip of a fender. The edge, a body line, and double layered metal made it difficult to remove.

Definately not the Dent King tools...
