Rep Power: 0 Park ur car outside, what to do?
Hi, I live in an apartment and I usually wash and wax my car every 2 two weeks. I leave my car outside because I dont trust underground parking. My question is: Is it ok to leave it outside all season? Wont hurt or fade the paint? Before winter comes I usually wax it twice for extra protection. Thanks guys

Rep Power: 0 Some colors fade faster than others, darker colors fade faster than lighter ones, red fades fastest of all. However you really won't see fading that much with the paint they use now, unless you don't take care of it at all which you seem to be doing well. Even if you weren't immaculate it would still take a few years for you to even notice

really? why? >>
I can't really answer 'why' but i can tell you that the colour of red shows oxidization the best.. (or worst, as the case may be)... we have a red car in the family and you know when you see a red car and its not shiny and the paint is a different hue of pink on every fender... well... seriously... give it 4 hours: very careful wash, very careful wax with some sort of restoration type wax which replenishes the natural oils in the paint... and seriously, the car will look like NEW.... my dad did that to our 91 colt in october and it seriously looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor... and a month before I had to drive it (before i got my civic) and all i remember is the ugly discoloration.
any paint will last longer so long as you take good care of it. Wax regularily and it'll pay off in time.
In any case - keeping your car out of the sun will also help but automakers know that not everyone can do so.
Good luck
btw: civicdude will know a good wax for sun protection

Rep Power: 0 i park mine outside and it seems okay but in winter be careful with the car cover because ice gets under it and can lift the paint right off the car. Also if you park it outside, invest in a good alarm system, your car will thank you for it, but a smart-butt kid that got caught in the act of trying to steal something won't.

Rep Power: 0 White car is the hardest paint to maintain. It's hard to keep a white car shine. The lesser you maintain your white car the dirtiest it get and if fastest to be oxidized. Sometimes I called a white car that has been oxidized a refigerator car. Because they have a similarity to that, of a white refigerator paint
