tinting over existing tint?

would it be ok to tint over your existing window tint?

i have basic dark color right now and want to add a light layer of blue to match up with my blue car color.

I have seen tint over tint jobs. I would not recommend it.

If you already have dark tint, you pry will not see the added blue layer unless you are sitting in the car...?

what for? tint foil is cheap... it will probably get bubbles and mess up. Just use a razor and remove the current tint and use new one straight onto your windows.

GrayGhost is on a distinguished road
I have my tint dual layered and have had no problems with it. I had 35% Platinum originally put on, then had a layer of 35% charcoal put on top of that. Its highly reflective and dark.

Dont put a double layer. Have it done proper. For 250-300 you can find a place to take it off, put limo or whatever type of tint you want, and have a lifetime warranty. Much better that way, IMO. But do whatever you want, it will mess up and bubble the other way.

it would be ok to do it, just get it done at a shop. otherwise you;ll most likely end up with bubbles and shitty tinting.

hey man, I did like 35% tint in front and when I double park, I cant see the side walk so it will be easy to curb check your rims if you do it like that. I had to take off front tints cuz its dangerous and I dont want police to pull me over for anything and find tons of worse **** in my car.

Whatever, do it if you want. I know some goooood shops, and none of them will tint over existing tint. To properly do it, remove the tint first. If you dont want to, fine, but chances are, eventually it will bubble. It may be ok for a little while, but eventually it will have probs (sooner than 1 layer).

i've got the double layered tint. what the shop i went to did is start with a light blue tint (something over 30-35%) and then went over that with 35% smoke tint it looks great from the outside blue but u can't see straight through it and it lights up the whole inside a sweet blue. but definitly get it done by a profesional shop and u shouldn't have any trouble w/bubbling u will probably have to take off the orginal tint and make sure to have the color tint on first then the dark or u won't be able to see it as well from outside
