would I be able to go to a body/paint shop and buy/ have them make a few aerosol cans of my paint color? (ssm) I want to paint my mirrors and a few other things or shoud I stop being cheap and take it in?

Depends on what you want done. I go to my local automotive paint supply store for paint and to have it put into spray cans. They have a minimum of $50 to put it into cans so you have to buy a quart and then they will put that into cans. If I was going to do mirrors and visible items like that I would have a pro do it and not try to attempt it myself. The paint in the cans will just be a one coat unless you get the clear too. The paint shop will use a base and clear coat.

It's not cheap wanting to do something yourself. I just think in the long run it will be better to have a shop do it.

What I would do is go and talk to the shops. As much as I hate to say this, you might want to even try a dealer shop and ask if they could paint the parts when they get a car in the same color. Then they won't have to make paint for such a small job.

The guys who paints our stuff, goes to the dealer, and buys the paint (actually we drive him to the dealer, but he is cheap/quality)
