Have you tried Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner and a wheel brush. Since you have aftermarket wheels you really have to be care with wheel cleaners. Stay away from cleaners with acids. Are your wheels clearcoated?

What is happening? The rotor rust is running onto the rim?
Or is the rotor just rusty?

I would use a quality sealant to protect them, plus a quality wheel cleaner to remove the rust. If there is any rust stains, the Klasse All In One will remove the stain, plus its my favorite sealant for wheels.

You just need to be REALLY careful with Simple Green. Over the long run it will ruin your wheels if you are using it that much. If we get some wheels in that are REALLY REALLY dirty I MIGHT use a 50/50 Simple Green/Water mix but that is rare.

I have chrome 18's and I always clean them with windex after every wash. I used the McGuiars NXT on the car, and once on the rims, I may wax them again with the NXT it does an awesome job.

Windex seems to do wonders on my rims. Hard to belive the last time i washed the car was back in early december. Picture Although it dosn't keep the rims shiney, it does do a good job of removing brake dust.

wax them with Mc Guiars NXT claean after washing with windex, and pull your wheels, paint the rotor mount area with flat black spray paint to keep them from rusting on your wheels.

Meguiars NXT is a great wax, but like other waxes it only lasts 3-4 weeks at most. An acrylic sealant like Klasse All In One (AIO) on the other hand lasts 6 months. This seems to be the prevailing view of pro detailers on autopia.org.

be careful with windex, it contains ammonia. You SHOULD NOT use that on your paint ever, or aftermarket wheels. I have washed my car with windex about 100 times, nothing has happened, but i wont anymore, nor has it ever touched my rims. Be careful. I use water and car soap, followed by wax. It may not last long with wax, but I detail the outside of my car every week, so they stay spotless.

Be sure to protect them with a sealant instead of a wax to keep them looking good. (Wax will not hold up as long ans sealants do.
For a sealant I like Klasse All In On
Klasse All In One Sealant
Hope this has helped.
Jon
that klasse aio is a cleaner, not a sealant. You need this one.
that is the sealant glaze.

Poorboy's World has just released their Wheel Sealant. I should have mine in in the next day or two and I plan on giving it a try on my wheels. I have 4 wheels disc brakes and the brake dust is bad. This stuff is supposed to make the wheels shine and really easy to clean when dirty.
