bug gunk and guts

I recently drove my car on a long trip. The hood front bumper and side view mirrors are covered with splattered bug guts and gunk. I washed my car and they didn't come out.

What am I to do?

I would try using a CLAY bar and see if that helps at all. It usually works pretty good for me. I also use all purpose cleaner and a regular household sponge for my bumper and mirrors.

will the bug tar remover damage my paint?

I put elbow greese and some of it came out but those bug guts have a bottom layer.

Try either Stoner's Tarminator or Stoner's Invisible Glass. Neither will harm the paint and both work great for bugs and tar.

Nope, it's made exclusively for removing stuff that flys into your car.

I know what nindo is going through. I just drove home to Houston from school for the weekend and it was insame how many bugs there were on my windshield, hood, bumper and side mirrors. Took me a while but I got them off. Someone told me that you can put saran wrap on your bumper/hood to keep the bugs off . Has anyone ever heard of that?

Ya, you can do that but it looks stupid. Some people do it when they have to drive their cars to shows. They just peel it off when they arrive.

you guys ever heard of a bug sponge? out here in the country we get shitloads of bugs, and this bug sponge, basically a sponge with tight nit mesh on it, takes them off EFFORTLESSLY, and i am not exaggerating, i almost **** myself when i realized how easy it was. I did all the other ways, and they are useless. The sponge was like 99cents and soo worth it, go out and get one....NOW!

i don't like those, i felt one and i didn't like the mesh. bug & tar remover is the easiest way, i've never had a problem using it at all.

You use a rubbing compound to remove bugs and tar? If you are then you are going to have to go over the spot with a finer polish afterwards unless you just leave it after the compound step?

That's the same thing I was wondering. It also seems to me that if you were to compound your finish every time you had bugs on your car it would start to break down your paint pretty fast wouldn't it? Seeing as how when you compound you are taking down the clear coat on your paint each time.

I rubbed them out using a wax applicator and some rubbing alcohol, worked well.

Then when I was my car I slipped over a brick me to scrap the the side of the car slightly now I have one of those minor scratches. You fix one thing and you get another. LOL

What is the easiest way to get rid minor scratches?
