clutch and boost
OK .. only thing missing from my setup is the clutch .. im looking ~250-280 wtq after going big ... i know i know andy u told me about the 6 puck unsprung but im not gona go wit that. This is a DD and i live in canada, winter's are bad and i need something smoother..
I wanted to know what all u other folks have in ur car? ... i was lookin at the clutch master as i think they are the most reliable from what i've read
now ... Stage 3 holds 110% and they say its almost stock drivability (i really really want this clutch).. that puts me about 240 tq .. which is basically border slippage... and that is the only thing holding me back. Now ... i've heard of a bunch of people who have this clutch in their cars and including my tuner who has a fully built gsr @ 440whp/275wtq and he's been running it for 3 yrs no problems and he's basically border slippage according to Clutchmasters specs.
The other alternative is the Stage 4 (6 puck sprung) which holds%2

****ing site!
Ignore the stages and look at torque specifications (dependent on the pressure plate, clutch disc style, and composition) and the shape of the disc.

Re: clutch and boost
The other alternative is the Stage 4 (6 puck sprung) which holds 170% and puts me in the 320wtq rang. This is plenty and perfect for my setup BUT !!! i hate it ... its not good for DD, its always on/off, engagement is a BITCH and there is a loudddd chatter, people thinking tranny's are fuked. So i wanna stay away from this if I can.

Re: clutch and boost

Re: clutch and boost
my tuner has ran his CM kevlar stage 3 for 3 yrs ... and he's at 275 ft/lbs on his gsr and the stage 3 110% is good for 260 .. with that said, he hasn't slipped and its grabbed for 3 yrs strong ! why is this? don't the specs mean its gona slip? if not, i would love to go with the stage 3, but specs tell me its not enough

Yep. That's the one I'm talking about. Also, LSD Motorsports has had a lot of good rep on their clutches. Check them out as well.

Re: clutch and boost
I have an 8.5# flywheel and 2 week old ACT clutch for sale. I paid $200 for the flywheel and another clutch and I JUST paid $325 for this ACT clutch and pressure plate.
I'll sell both for $350 and the flywheel was also JUST resurfaced 2 weeks ago ($45 value). I haven't even driven the car everyday. I still have the receipt from Element Motorsports for the clutch and for the flywheel resurfacing.
Basically, pay me back for the clutch, and throw in $25 for a portion of the resurfacing and you get a flywheel for FREE.

Re: clutch and boost
i got the clutchmaster fx300 kevlar... after a lot of research i knew it was the best clutch for me living in canada with our winters ... i can't handle the puck with the on/off bs and ****in chatter and rough engagement .... i didn't wanan go with a puck cuz i wanna keep my DD, im a student .. i know if i break it in properly for 1500 km it will be a strong clutch and hold up my 240-270tq with no problem! ... my tuner has this clutch in his integra @440whp 250wtq for 3 yrs !
