It’s compatible, but I’m not sure all the work going into will justify the minimal hp increase. Have you explored an altogether different engine? I’m not sure where you live but that’s the cheap way to do it where I am.

legally, i can get a d16v1, but it s an entire engine just for 20hp. if i can get anywhere near 20+ just with a mini me swap and a remap that would be great.

You’d also get more torque with a d16 block than you would with a d14 block. Do whatever you want, but it’s something to think about. I seriously recommend you check what the running price is for whatever d16 you can use.
