lol....Cam was installed last night!!!!
Started up but I only ran it for 5 seconds.
Sometimes you have to decide if tuning the car is more important than an 11 month old sleeping who's room is located above the garage....
I decided it would be best to push the car out in the garage and not have my wife cut my nutz off...

I have a tricore yanakka...yokahamma.. whatever that brand is. Build quality is great, but mine came with a plastic drain valve and a rubber gasket that is now dryer out and leaks.
So after a few years watch out for that.
Videos sounded awesome bro 😁

Catch pan starting to come together.
A good friend will be welding everything together for me.
The white lines are my preliminary marks for making some beads.
The extra material on the bottom goes to the lower radiator mount. I'm going to use that area to help mount it.

Ba da da da daaaaaa, Im lovinnng it.
Serious tho man amazing progress.
Did you have to add a brace to support the turbo manifold? If not the turbo manifold, the turbo itself? If so, how did you go about it?

That's the e-bay cast manifold. No reinforcement. I will be replacing it here soon.
My tuner tells me cast manifolds are good up to about 300hp...after that you need a stainless type manifold...

Re: Ktuner and the D17
Just an FYI for everyone out there the vitara pistons DO fit the 1.7 engine. I currently have them installed on a 1.7 block. They are shorter than stock pistons and come right up perfectly to the top of the block. Compression is raised slightly but if you are hard up on keeping super low compression. Cometic makes a thicker head gasket to offset the difference.

These are the back to tabs for the pan.
The long tabs will be pop riveted to the catch pan and the shorter piece will be welded to the sub frame.
I will have for tabs welded to only the sub frame.
