I recently tried replacing the bulb under the automatic gear shifter and it won't light up. Trying to understand what is causing the issue. Im not a trained technician just an enthusiast trying to fix my daily driver (DX 2004). There is continuity in the wire from the junction to the bulb holder but no voltage coming through. Used a good ground inside the car to check it. But i can't figure out upto what point the flow of electricity is coming through.

A quick update. Was still trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and realised it was not really the bulb that was replaced or the wiring connectors that had the issue. I just had to turn the headlights on for it to glow. 🤣 Diagnostics requires patience. I was so focused on getting the result, that I completely missed it. Attaching a picture of what it looks like at night. Overall very satisfied with the work done. Gear shift indicator light.
