What you can do is take the thrust peices out and see if you can find the same size of anther car make (e.g. BMW MERCEDES) or at leat of the same diameter and take it to a turning shop to cut it to the same length and shape.
hope this helps!
Good to know, thanks for letting me know! Are you referring to something inside the rack that is supposed to prevent the rod that the inner tie rod end bracket bolts to to from being able to rotate? If so, that sounds like it could be my problem.

I assumed that the plastic slider behind the bracket was supposed to control the bracket's up and down play, but that doesn't seem to work very well with either a new OEM slider or the SHG slider.

The new slider from SHG solved the issues I had years back.

Do you have any up and down play in the bracket the inner tie rod ends attach to or any side to side play in the wheels? The SHG slider reduced my play, but it's still there on my 04 and my 05. I can watch the toe slightly change as I move that piece up and down. I'm not sure what's going on, I can't imagine the aluminum housing could have worn with no signs of the original plastic slider on either wearing.

Re: Play in steering rack

If you'd like, I can take a quick video this evening showing how much play there is.

That would be very helpful whenever you have the time. I'm still trying to get rid of the play in the front wheels at the 9 and 3 positions and I have yet to see an EPS rack that has no play in the wheels and I have yet to see any 7th gen rack with no play in the inner tie rod end bracket. I have never been so frustrated by what should be such a simple problem to solve. It's starting to seem like getting this rack design to actually work properly and be tight with a precise alignment like a 6th gen just isn't possible.

Re: Play in steering rack

Due to turbo bits in the way, I can't really get a video. However, one isn't needed. With the car on the ground there is zero vertical play. I cannot feel or see it move at all. EP3 rack with the SHG slider.
