When you look at the flange nut that you want to tighten, in the middle of it is a joint pin, you need to hold that with a allen wrench while you tighten or loosen the other nut. I had the same problem one time untill I figured out you had to hold the joint pin while turning the nut. Look inside the nut and you will see what I am talking about.

it doesnt tighten it. it holds it, while you use a wrench to turn the flange nut. Look inside the flange nut and you will see what I am talking about. Stick an allen wrench in there, hold it, then use the wrench to turn the nut. Otherwise if you dont do it, the nut will always spin.

Ok, you have the nut right. Take the allen wrench and put it in the middle of the nut. And hold it. Then use the open end of a wrench and put it around the flange nut (the nut that you have the allen wrench in the middle of and turn to tighten it). There is a pin in the middle of that nut you are not being able to turn. And in order to get the nut to tighten, you need to hold that pin in the middle. Go look inside of that nut you are trying to tighten and you will see what I mean. AIM me and I will help you.

you arent turning the allen wrench, you are using that to hold the pin inside of the nut. you turn the flange nut with the wrench.
