please help! idle problem.

Hello ! Im looking for some feedback as to fixing my problem.
I have a 2003 honda civic ex 5mt all stock. It has about 237k miles on it and recently replaced the exhaust flange gasket. After i replaced it, the car ran fine for about 10 to 15 minutes on the road but then idle roughly then died. I disconnected the battery which helped so i could make it home . When in neutral it doesnt stall but when i drive and come to a stop it does. It also makes a loud noise similar to a pop . All this never happened before replacing the exhaust flange gasket. I think it might be a bad gasket seal since these problems did occur after fixing them but i want some feedback first!

Re: please help! idle problem.

i guess common sense would be to check your work

bolts loose?

is it leaking exhaust around the gasket?

check engine light on?

The bolts are tight. It was lleaking from the exhaust flange gasket, but i placed the new one. No check engine light. Im reading that maybe i need to reset my idle hopefully this works.

Check your idle control valve. The aluminum usually gets corroded. Replace it.

No i didn't. It sounds like a good idea though, maybe get a better seal. I have tried to relearn idle and it has ran better with less stalls but there is still misfires when driving. Runs really shitty.

Re: please help! idle problem.

Does your exhaust have an oxygen sensor, usually has 2 small wires running out of it that go to ECU? The wires could be lose, broken or the sensor bad. Have you changed your plug wires in the last 100K miles?
